Pancit Canton Recipe for Occassions

Most Asians have this menu especially during occasions. They believe that the presence of this food in the table can add happiness to the family since this symbolizes long life and good health. Now I want to share my own version of this Pancit Canton served during occasions.


500 g  pansit canton  noodles (dried)                       150 g pork meat or chicken meat
1 1/4 L water                                                                 1 whole onion medium
50 ml dark soy sauce                                                 4 gloves of garlic
3 tbsp cooking oil                                                      1 cup of cabbage  strips cut
1/2 tsp black  pepper powder                                     1 cup of carrots strips cut
1 cup green beans strips cut                                       1 broth cube ( chicken)
1 cup shrimp cleaned                                                 1 bell pepper red              


1. First heat the cooking oil in a wok then add the onions. Saute the onions then quickly add the garlic and saute again until golden brown.
2. Add the meat together with the soy sauce and saute again. Then sprinkle the black pepper.
3. When the meat is half cooked, add the shrimp then saute again for 1 minute.
4. After saute, add water and bring to boil.
5. While boiling, add the carrots, beans, cabbage, bell pepper, broth cube, and pancit canton noodles. Cover the wok and let it simmer until all the water has evaporated.
6. Serve while it's hot. Enjoy!
